No matter what we set out to achieve in our lives. We will inevitably run into challenges that can create self-limiting beliefs that can prevent us from reaching our full potential. My guest today, Joel Runyon, talks about some of the challenges that he's faced as he's traveled the world as an ultra-endurance athlete. As well as why you should embrace challenges in your life, and how to do what you never thought was possible.
Joel is the founder of IMPOSSIBLE, which is a company that focuses on helping others surpass their limits and do the impossible. I had the chance to sit down with him during the Spartan Media Fest in Lake Tahoe prior to the Spartan Race World Championships, and I was amazed to hear some of his incredible stories and accomplishments. In 2017, he became the youngest person to run an ultra-marathon on all seven continents. As a result, he raised $192,000 for Pencils for Promise and built seven schools.
Though this endeavor didn't come without challenges. Early on he faced a critical setback that almost ended it all. Though he found a way to overcome this challenge and push forward to set this new record. Now he's on a mission to help others overcome their own challenges. Along the way, he's done a TEDx talk, developed an app called MoveWell, and he continues to set an example by seeking out more challenges in his life.
