In this episode, we talk about healthy decision making and what can get in the way of healthy decisions. We go through the process of making good decisions and we discuss how when we avoid making a decision, we are still making a decision even though it is a passive one. When we are unable to make a healthy decision, we can get "stuck" which can lead to anxiety and depression. We reference the self-help book, Set Boundaries, Find Peace: A guide to Reclaiming Yourself by Nedra Glover Tawwab which gives examples and questions to help guide you through the decision-making process with healthy boundaries. When a decision is being considered, we encourage our listeners to think "What is the worst thing that can happen if I make this decision?" and "Can I live with that?" We also explore turning the negative "what if" thinking into more positive "what if" thoughts to change the negative mindset. Listen and grow in healthy decision making!
