James 1:27 says, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." Andy Mendonsa had no idea God was leading him to a ministry for widows, until he realized most of the people, he had been ministering to just happened to fall into this category. God wanted him to act, and so he did. That was the 80s, and today Widows Harvest continues to provide housing support to urban widows as well as provide space for them to pray for the church.
