Throughout the Bible and throughout the example of the early church we can see that church membership is implied. It would be a foreign consent in the early church to come to faith and not be commented to a local church, a local body.
We see this in the metaphor of the body. (1 Cor 12:12-13)As Christians, we are not isolated or independent. We belong to a body of people, set apart for God, each of us having a necessary function. If one part of the body suffers we all suffer.
We bare each other's burdens, carrying one another and making each other's lives richer.
