I wonder if you know why you are here? Do you know the reason you were put on the planet in the first place? It may seem strange for me to ask you those questions when this podcast is about real estate investing - but there's a reason I am asking. All of your success in real estate is rooted in this all-important thing: You must KNOW why you are here and what you're supposed to be doing.

This episode is another wake-up call - a call to get you to stop deflecting and to stop putting off answering the hard questions you need to be facing. If you keep grinding and grinding and are not getting breakthroughs, it's time to wake up. You've got deeper things to deal with.

Mark Twain said, "The two most important days in a man's life are the day he is born and the day he discovers why."

When I read Mark Twain's famous words it struck me deeply - because it described where I was at the time. Obviously, I was already born but I wasn't clear on why I was here. That's when I had to take stock. I had to go deep. And it was very hard.

It's not comfortable either, but it has to be done if you're going to live your life in a way that accomplishes more than just taking up space. Listen to hear my story, but more importantly to receive a much-needed challenge to ask the important questions about your own story. It's time to stop banging your head against a wall. It's time to take stock. It's time to make a change that can set you in motion.

Don't expect God to do the extraordinary if you're unwilling to do the ordinary

Yes, I'm talking about God on these episodes because He's the most important aspect of what happens in my world day to day. Not only does He give me life and breath and everything else, He's directing my life to go down a certain path - HIS path. He's doing the same with your life whether you recognize it or not.

Most importantly, we've all got to learn how to walk that path willingly, because I've learned that when I try to go my own way, everything falls apart.

I'm not saying God will make everything perfect in your life - not at all. There will be tribulations and difficulties but those only serve to refine your faith and to make you stronger for His purposes. I want you to listen to this episode because I want you to get this. Don't waste another minute. I want you to understand the ordinary, mundane things that go into getting on the right track so you can walk His path.

You are not responsible for the legacy you receive but you are responsible for the legacy you leave

Read that sentence again. Read it slowly. We've all been handed a set of circumstances that have a powerful influence on who we are and the kind of opportunities that are presented to us. But we don't have to allow those things to dictate the rest of our lives. It's possible to overcome anything and everything that holds you back from experiencing God's best in your life - but you've got to determine that with God's help you WILL make your legacy turn out differently.

Your family doesn't have to live the hard knock life you did. They don't have to continue living with an angry, frustrated, driven person like they do now. That's because with God's help you can change, you can become a light to your world. That's where all success begins, inside. God's the only one who can make that kind of change, so it's time to turn it all over to Him.

If you are grinding and grinding and can't break through...

Real estate investors are tough people. They keep pushing even when difficult obstacles crop up, even when things seem impossible. But there comes a time when even the most determined person realizes that all their grinding is not getting them anyplace. What then? It's time to take stock and reevaluate what you're doing.

If you're trying to run things on your own, you're fighting a losing battle. You can't run your life - it's too big for you. Listen to hear how God has shown me these truths and how much freedom and power for living comes from giving things up to Him instead of clutching them desperately to yourself. This is hard stuff, but it's real. I hope you'll listen.
