Two film bros slinging around praise for The Social Network... who would've thought. The Social Reckoning comes out this weekend and in an effort to honor the original and open our minds for the sequel, we are giving you 10 things we love about The Social Network.
But first! We are talking through our thoughts on Primetime. The year of Robert Pattinson continues to amaze us and Primetime is so much more than a biopic about Chris Hansen. There is a lot to discuss! Including... is this movie actually a retelling of Dracula and just using Chris Hansen as the stand in for that character.
If you liked this gimmick then you can hear us doing this once before with 10 Things We Love About Twister!
We have a Substack! Paid episodes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. FREE episodes every Friday.

We are less than a few weeks away from Ben Affleck's next directorial effort, Animals. One of the kings of Do You Like Apples raises the most questions of our fandom. Is he a good actor? What type of director is he trying to be? Do we like him for his celebrity, artistic aptitude, or a combination of both?
During this episode we will be drafting Ben Affleck movies alongside our friend Kenny Ashton and exploring all of these questions in the process. Kenny is former creator and host of the now cancelled The Cineboiz Podcast. They may not be recording anymore, but he is a person we still go to for shit talk and movie talk. Give their 160 episode log a listen if you are hankering for some still relevant movie talk.
Our schedule for DYLgAme is still finishing up September! Currently our friend Carter is in the just over a week to go! For October, we are creating a whole list of horror movies! From family friendly fair like Little Shop of Horrors to some of the scariest movies of all time! Sign up now to learn the ropes before October because it is going to be our spookiest and biggest month yet!

Kids are back in school and the summer movie season is being completely dominated by Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey. Creating that dead zone at the end of August for smaller, but solid movies. Therefore, hosts Billy Rock and Drew Wendt are using this time to look forward a bit and preview some of our most anticipated movies of the fall! Festival and Awards season is really what gets Do You Like Apples going.
But first, when the conversation starts, we talk about the first month of DYLgAme and the September slate we have ready for you all!
DYLgAme is a movie watch schedule for busy adults. We pick the movies for you and you compete against your friends to see who can rack up the most points. The more you watch, the more points you get.

Dinosaurs are back! This time helmed by one of Do You Like Apples favorite directors, David Robert Mitchell. The dinosaur sub genre feels like it should be a yearly event, but nothing since the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World franchise has been able to capture audiences in quite the same way; critically or commercially. Listen to Drew and Billy discuss if The End of Oak Street has the juice to even be in the same conversation. For now, we will just tease that this movie is definitely not trying to be Jurassic Park.
Do You Like Apples created a game for you all! It is called DYLgAme! It is like a library summer reading program, but for movies! Plus, when you sign up you will be able to join our Discord!
It includes David Robert Mitchell's second feature film, Under the Silver Lake, plus 30 other movies for the whole month of August. It is not too late to join and we will have September ready for you all very soon. Compete with you friends to see who can watch the most movies each month. You get more points for prioritizing first watches and in theater watches!
Do You Like Apples is not just a podcast. We have a Substack that is over 7 years old and some social media that you may be interested in.

Did you grow up in an environment that shamed you for your interest in romance movies? Then this is the podcast for you! Hosts Billy Rock and Drew Wendt go through the massive cannon of High Concept Romances. Romance movies that have some sci-fi, time bending, and dark twists.
This is all inspired by the release of One Night Only that came out this past weekend. It is essentially a rom-com slanted version for the movie, The Purge. It has all of the standard romance tropes with a little extra to try and bring more people into theater (One Night Only was not successful in this endeavor).
Make sure to sign up for DYLgAme! It is a movie watch schedule for busy adults, built by Do You Like Apples. It's like a library reading program, but for movies!

Welcome to Do You Like Apples: Your Neighborhood Podcast. Where movies are the gateway and proximity is your value.
This week Billy has some thoughts on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but first he and Drew sit down for a joint "way too late" review of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Then things get competitive with the Spider-Man Actors Draft — where Drew and Billy each draft their favorite films from every actor who has suited up as Spidey, plus their love interests.
We also built a movie watch schedule for busy adults — think summer reading program at the library, but for movies. Create a profile, log what you have and haven't seen, and compete with your friends all month to see who can watch the most.
Here's how the points work:
0 points for not having seen it
½ point for having seen it
+1 point for a rewatch
3 points for a first watch
5 points for seeing it in theaters
We've made it clear which films are streaming and which ones you can still catch on the big screen.

We are one week away from The Odyssey, so it is fitting to do a year check in. Gather our thoughts about the quality of the year and discuss some of our favorites before a juggernaut comes into the fold.
Drew and Billy each give five of their favorites of the year with one LOCK that they are predicting will remain on the list by the end of year.

Toy Story 5 is finally in theaters and the franchise continues. These jaded millennials grew up in a perfect timeline with Andy. Drew and Billy quite literally went to college the same summer that Andy did. Continuing the story with Bonnie worked pretty well for Toy Story 4, but will it work again for the franchise's fifth installment? And will Toy Story make our Mount Rushmore of ALL animated movies?
Before we get into all of that we hit some AI movie news. As film enthusiasts we ask actual artists to help us understand AI and how it interacts with art. While also feeling skeptical (to say the least) about that technology affecting art at all. If you are listening and have real knowledge about this we would love for your input.

Steven Spielberg is back as box office champ and audiences are divided. Is it good? Is it bad? Is it corny? Has Spielberg lost his fastball a bit?
Billy loved the ending, Drew loved the Mission-Impossible-esque quality throughout, and critics have said Disclosure Day is like a M Night Shyamalan movie. Pretty fitting, huh?
First, though, we acknowledge Drew's birthday on June 19th by playing a little game. We go year by year and pit every June 19th box office champ against each other to see which is Drew's favorite. Total Recall, Jurassic Park, Toy Story 3, and Michael Bay's The Rock all play apart in this tournament style game. Some are saying it was even more exciting than the UFC event at The White House.
Hosts: Billy Rock and Drew Wendt
