Watch the debate tonight, Tuesday, March 10, 2020, on the Friendly Neighborhood Atheist page!
I’m preparing for an online (Facebook) debate tomorrow with Brandon, the self-styled “Friendly Neighborhood Atheist,” on the question, “Can You Be Good Without God?” In my prep, I searched through the archives of my pastoral blog for content I had already created on the subject, and I found an article from 2016 that remains very relevant to the question. I’m posting that article below. If you follow along while you listen, you’ll see that when I recorded it for the Think Podcast, I made a few ad hoc edits as I spoke.
The big idea is basically this: Anyone can “do good,” but true goodness needs Jesus. So, can you be good without God? The answer is no. Here we go.
