Take the time to develop communication (listening, asking questions, exploring meanings of their words) where understanding your spouse is the goal. 

Different backgrounds complicate understanding and conflicts can erupt when words don’t mean the same to each person. 

Tone of voice can be key 🎹.  ( Couldn’t stop myself). Paul was criticized for his tone. Why? Did he sound like a know it all? Tone conveys patience, kindness and so many things. Praying together can change this area of marriage. 

Love deepens where an atmosphere of tolerating and accepting differences exists. Taking time to develop a couple’s language with one another will create security and trust.
