This story is adapted from An ancient story  in Chinese Mandarin. I make this story to  cover the common sickness and symptoms. Through this story you will know how to say cough, have a cold, sneeze, fever etc. Students can easily master these difficult words. The episode is a little bit different from the common heard legend, however, it's both talking about the King refused to see the doctor and to admit his illness. This episode is a great resource for Mandarin learner to learn  how to say the common sickness and symptoms. It's a great resource for AP taker to prepare the cultural presentation.

很久很久以前，中国有很多个国家。有一个国家叫蔡国。蔡国有一个医生，医生的名字叫扁鹊。有一天，扁鹊见到了蔡国的国王。扁鹊看了看国王。他发现国王生病了。于是，他对国王说：“国王，你生病了。你咳嗽吗？”国王回答：“我既不咳嗽也不打喷嚏。我没生病。”扁鹊对国王说:“你真的生病了。你发烧吗？”国王回答：“我没有发烧。我也没有感冒。”但是扁鹊说：“虽然你既不发烧，也不咳嗽，但是你真的生病了。”国王认为自己很健康。他不相信扁鹊说的话。周围的人也不相信扁鹊，因为国王既没有发烧又没有咳嗽也没有打喷嚏。他们都认为国王没有感冒。他们也不认为国王生病了。扁鹊对国王说：你的病现在不严重。如果现在治疗，很快可以治好。但是国王坚持认为自己没有生病。他没有听医生的建议。十天后，扁鹊又来见国王。扁鹊对国王说：你现在病得很严重了。你现在必须要治疗了。扁鹊继续说：“如果你现在治疗的话，还是可以治好的。”但是国王还是不相信他。国王没有听他的建议。又过了十天，国王肚子痛。国王想找扁鹊帮助他治病。但是扁鹊却不愿意给国王治病了。他说：国王的病太严重了。他已经病入膏肓了，我没办法治好他了。说完，扁鹊就逃到其他国家去了。没过多久，国王就病死了。
