Doctors are concerned pharmacies can now administer some government-funded vaccines.
Drugs to treat adult measles, mumps and rubella are just some of the vaccines now available over the counter, but Royal Australian College of GPs spokesperson Charlotte Hespe says doctors are not entirely happy with the change.
"The problem with meningococcal for example is it's actually quite complex, it's not just one vaccine," she told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings.
"There's actually three to four formulations, they're all slightly different, with different indications and safety around different age groups and the where's and why's of who gets them."
