Jacques Jonathan is of Counsel at Cabinet Nyemb. He is a lawyer and public policy specialist.
He mainly advises companies (multinationals, private equity firms, emerging and start-up companies), financial institutions and sovereign entities seeking to develop, acquire, operate, finance or restructure local and international projects or businesses in sub-Saharan Africa.
In addition, he also has extensive experience advising governments and other local or international public-sector related entities in policy-making and regulation. In particular, Jacques Jonathan has been member of the Experts Team assisting the Permanent Secretariat of the OHADA in the review of the Uniform Act on Commercial Companies and Economic Interest Groups from September 2010 to December 2013.
Jacques Jonathan is also Lecturer at the Catholic University of Central Africa on "Business Negotiation: theoretical and practical aspects for lawyers" and "Corporate Governance, Compliance & Risk Management".
He is Board Director of the Groupement InterPatronal du Cameroun (GICAM - Inter Patronal Groupings of Cameroon), the most representative private sector organization in Cameroon. He is also the President of the Law & Competitiveness Commission of the African Center for Competitive Intelligence (ACCI/CAVIE).
Furthermore, Jacques Jonathan is highly engaged in several initiatives designed to foster innovation, education and arts in Africa. He is notably Co-Founder and President of The Okwelians, a Think Do Tank promoting social innovation through ethical leadership in Cameroon.
