Welcome back! This week we wanted to talk about a question that we hear often, “how do I get my dog to stop jumping up on me?” The first section of this week’s segment will cover this important question.

During this episode, we take a moment to talk about our dog's perspective on their daily lives. This includes socialization of puppies, distractions that dogs face in their daily lives, and commonly negative experiences like car rides or going to the veterinarian.

When you first get a puppy, the most important time period is the first 6 months! That socialization window is the time frame where your puppy is being introduced to a whole new world of sounds and experiences. During this episode we talk about some questions that we have received since our last show. One listener asked, “how do I get my dog to be calm?” Depending on the specific situation different strategies can be used, but we take time to explain ‘name recognition’ and how this type of drill will help all pet owners and dogs of all ages. Be able to go camping during the summers, walk off leash, socialize with other dogs?
