The church, including the Wesleyan/Methodist traditions, seem to be more fruitful when they minister on the fringes of society rather than vying to operate at the center of culture. True dogmatic theology worked out from faithful engagement with scripture should lead followers of Jesus to seek first the Kingdom of God without making the attainment of worldly positions of power and influence part of the mission. Dr. Koskela joins STG to share more about the importance of dogmatic theology and his role at SPU.

Dr. Doug Koskela serves through the Free Methodist Church as a professor at Seattle Pacific University, where he teaches Wesleyan theology, epistemology of theology, vocation and ecclesiology. He is a member of the Wesleyan Theological Society and author of several books. Today, he mentions his last two published works in our conversation, The Radiance of God: Christian Doctrine through the Image of Divine Light and Made Known to Them: An Invitation to the Study of Theology.
