Doing All We Can

This month, we're joined by our Director of Programmes and Partnerships, Angela Zamaere-Smith, to unpack the Emergency Relief Fund (ERF) from All We Can - why it's happened, how it works - and why disaster risk reduction is becoming more important in light of the climate crisis.

This month, we talk to Naomi Nixon (CEO, SCM Britain) about everything from climate justice, interior design, student and community leadership, and theology.

We explore SCM's Faith in Action project, student-led leadership model, and where we can meet them at events in the coming year!

The Student Christian Movement is an ecumenical student-led movement passionate about faith and justice. SCM brings students together to explore how to live out the Christian faith in today’s world.

To mark this hugely important International Day, we sat down with All We Can’s Chair of Trustees, and inclusion expert, Linbert Spencer—talking about inclusive leadership, and his experiences in his work as a consultant for communities and organisations.

Linbert Spencer is an accomplished international consultant, trainer and coach who has been helping organisations and individuals to transform themselves for more than 30 years.

On Sunday 12th March 2023, Tropical Cyclone Freddy entered the southern part of Malawi through Nsanje district after initially making landfall on the Mozambican coast on Saturday, 11th March 2023.

God of Grace,

Thank you for the opportunity this day gives us to celebrate the contribution of women and to advocate for progress on gender equality.

We celebrate that you are a God who longs for life in all its fulness for all people. We lament that too often, the potential of women across the world has been restricted by individual prejudice and structural barriers.

We thank you for the example of women throughout Christian history who have preached and lived the gospel in the face of discrimination. We pray that you may give us all a spirit of courage to stand up for justice, even when it becomes uncomfortable.

We pray particularly for All We Can’s partners for whom supporting women and girls is a central focus: Zubo and CGCDZ in Zimbabwe, COFCAWE in Uganda, and AGLIT+ in Malawi.

Continue to bless them and their work, this and every day.

Henry Olonga is a Former Zimbabwean cricketer who went into political exile after publicly standing up to Mugabe’s regime during the 1999 Cricket World Cup. Henry is a Christian, and also a gospel singer who competed on The Voice Australia in 2019.

In August 2019, he joined the fundraiser of the African AIDS Foundation to raise funds for the organisation. He was also recently appointed as global ambassador for Anglican Aid.
