Collecting Real Estate

Doing It All with Jermaine Hurley

Listen Later

In the eighty-second episode of Collecting Real Estate, we interviewed Jermaine Hurley.

Jermaine started investing in real estate in 2008, when he purchased a distressed 6 unit apartment building that he was able to renovate, lease out, and then refinance.  He continued to do this over the next 7 years to build up a portfolio of 120 apartment units made up of 2-7 unit buildings for a total of 27 buildings with a value of over 11 million.  All their property management is handled in house where they have a staff of 4 employees.  Since 2017 he’s been focused on fixing and flipping single, and small apartment buildings.  They do around 12-15 fix and flips per year, and are looking to continue to grow.  He’s married with a 6 year old daughter and 2 year old son.  Jermaine is looking to start investing in larger apartment complexes to utilize the power of scaling to reach a goal of 1000 units. He’s an avid runner that has run the Boston Marathon and several other races.
