Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party, and in honor of Black History Month I am here today to review Dolemite starring Rudy Ray Moore. Dolemite is an iconic, complicated, and extremely quirky film and character. In this episode, I share the history of the film and character while also processing the complicated nature of depicting a pimp as a hero both in modern times and even within the 1970s.
