I am afraid you do not capture vampires.
Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. in today's review, I am joined by author and podcaster Christian Ashley of Why I Don't Like to review the Hammer/Shaw Brothers joint production, The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires. Along with going over the plot of the film, we discuss why nno body tries to capture vampires, how in the world someone would even try to make that happen, and what our go-to melee weapons would be.

Don't meddle, remember you promise.
Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party, and in today's episode I am getting the party started early as I celebrate Bruce Lee's birthday with a review of The Big Boss aka Fist of Fury. In this review, I breakdown the film looking at how this idea of not meddling in other people's affairs is a major plot device and theme for the film. In our Martial Art Cinema History lesson, I talk about how James Tien was the co-star to the stars. I also give my take on why I do not like how modern martial art heavy movies are shot.

I don't know if this can be done. Should this be done? Can this be done well?
Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. In today's review, I sit down to talk about something between an extra long YouTube video and a documentary as I review the latest video from Michelle Khare's YouTube show Challenge Accepted where she works to earn a black belt in Taekowndo...in 90 days. In this episode, I walk you through Michelle's journey, her trials and triumphs, I discuss the insanity that is required to make something like this happen, and I reflect on my own martial arts journey and how I would change some of what I am doing to better grow spiritually.

Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. In today's episode, I review Three the Hard Way starring Jim Brown, Fred "The Hammer" Williamson, and Jim Kelly. In this review I take a brief look at the history of Blaxploitation, the careers of Brown, The Hammer, and Kelly, break down the plot and action sequences of the film, and have a chat about the responsibility we have towards fighting injustice when we know it will be happening.

Who would you take with you to go jiangshi hunting?
Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party, and a happy spooky season to you all! In today's episode, I embrace the spooky vibes by review Rigor Mortis starring Chin Sui-ho as a washed-up version of himself. With this movie being an ode to the Mr. Vampire franchise of the 80s, I sit down to unpack the history of the Kung Fu Horror genre and how this movie is a completely different tone then the original films.. I also talk about the differences between "hopping vampires" and our Western idea of vampire, and I talk about the tiny shimmer of hope in this dark movie, where is home?

Welcome to my dojo.
This is Kung Fu Pizza Party, and in today's episode I am joined by my wife Claire to review the biggest disappointment of 2024 and possibly the past 30 years, The Crow starring Bill Skarsgard as Eric Draven. We break down all of the issues surrounding this film, the poorly executed things we did like, Claire walks us through the bad acting and line delivery, and Brandon rants about how Eric should not use a sword.

Is your weapon of choice the Flying Guillotine?
Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. In today's episode, I review our first movie for the show, Master of the Flying Guillotine, starring Jimmy Wang Yu as The One-Armed Boxer. In this review, I walk you through the high-points of the film, highlighting the creativity of The One-Armed Boxer as he goes toe-to-toe with various opponenets including the Blind Assassin weilding the Flying Guillotine, and I reflect on how being patient is an attribute that The One-Armed Boxer exemplifies well in the film.
