In this Episode I am joined by Halley Russell. Halley is the 2020-2021 MSTA President! We discuss her career, her role as the MSTA President, and some great success tips!
Halley's Bio-
Halley Russell, “The Girl on Fire,” the 2020-2021 MSTA President is starting her 14th year of education at Jackson Sr. High School in Jackson, MO. Halley received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southeast Missouri State University - Go Redhawks! Halley has spent her career teaching high school students social studies, and at this point she teaches mainly government to seniors of all levels - CWC to AP. She works as a sponsor of JHS’s Student Council and attends a lot of meetings for numerous committees.
Halley is involved with her local church, the Jackson community, and her children’s PTO organizations. She enjoys spending time learning about new things, trying to make her school and students the best that they can be, and basically being a government nerd.
Halley’s eyes light up when she has the opportunity to mentor new teachers, is given a new challenge, or when she has the opportunity to color coordinate or organize something.
When she has extra time, you can find her reading, crocheting blankets, and enjoying time with friends and family.
Halley is married to Jamie, an educator as well, and they have three beautiful, spunky, and energetic children: Ellie, JJ, and Theo.
