Canon law 208 CIC, article 2 "Flowing from the rebirth in Christ there is a genuine equality of dignity and action among all of the Christian faithful because of this equality they all contribute each according to his or her condition and function to the building of the body of Christ." What and who is this law meant to protect? Why did legislators think it so important that it needed to be a law? What do we mean genuine equality of dignity and action? Genuine equality of action flows from the genuine equality of dignity. Genuine equality of action is immediate consequence of the Christian faithful as agents in and of the church. What is meant by no Superior or inferior roles in the church when considering human dignity and pursuant human action in the church?
