The Ultimate UpWork Strategy Guide
The tips and tricks in this book are immediately applicable to your profile and proposals. Already, I received my first âinvitation to interviewâ (!!!) and Iâve won more jobs this week than usual. The psychology behind UpWork is fascinating and involves elements that never would have crossed my mind otherwise. I recommend reading Dominate on UpWork to anyone that is serious about making UpWork their kickass career platform.
Useful, but somewhat problematic
Overall, this book has some great advice for freelancing on Upwork--I'll definitely be using some of the author's suggestions. In that sense, it's a very useful reference book that I'll keep around to come back to later.
That being said, I have two issues with it. First, this book is full of typos. I don't think it's great for a freelancing guide to have so many typos--it just doesn't seem as credible when wrong words are used or punctuation doesn't make sense. There are some VERY obvious mistakes throughout. If the author is a writer himself, he should be aware of how important this would be in a book about freelance writing!
In addition, there's a section that basically states you should never accept freelance offers from anyone in a certain country. I found that very offensive. Even if the author has had bad experiences with clients from this particular country, it's very judgmental for him to assume everyone there would be the same way. I don't think that is appropriate or politically correct...
Highly Recommended, Helped make crucial changes to my Upwork game
Having been using Upwork for some time with mild success on landing clients I gave this book a read. Upon finishing, I took the advice and changed my profile and approach to clients and immediately saw an increase in the number of clients, along with quality. If you are looking to be more successful and push your freelance work to the next level, I highly recommend this book

As someone who makes a living on UpWork, this book was of immediate interest to me.
