What is the weakness of God? VulnerabilityIt is the vulnerability of God that also causes the suffering of God. Imagine God…ever loving, ever extending Himself, ever full of compassion and love. Imagine the infinite God ever pouring Himself into the finite. To simply entertain the thought that God has a weakness doesn’t pair well with the thought of the Imperial Almighty God who reigns on high. Jesus, instead, shows us God as being the All-Vulnerable One who dwells among us. 

The power of the dance is found in the relationship itself. It seems totally counter intuitive to how we measure power. Our definition of power has to do with might in some form and usually applies to ruling over or gaining the victory of someone else. Power within the Godhead is not about winning, but it’s about mutual submission. It’s not about ruling over another, but serving another.

God elevates relationship above all us. God has always had a divine connection with His creation and He has equipped us to have the same connection with one another. This connection isn't about intellect, but affection. We must resist disconnection at all costs as we are intentional about the relationships around us.

Session two of the It's Time to Dance series takes a look at what it means to be desired by God. The divine dance of the Godhead has a space custom made for you. God not only intentionally made this space for you, but He longs for you to get caught up in the dance. 

This new series takes a deep dive into the Trinity. The early fathers of the faith understood the relational intimacy of the godhead as a divine dance (perichoresis). This is not something we simply observe, but rather we are invited to take our place in the dance.
