By default, human nature tends to be greedy, keeping as much as possible for ourselves, due to an underlying fear of lack. If you look at small children, they do not eagerly want to share their toys with others, and so the mindset of greed automatically progress well into adult years if we are not challenged in this area. The Kingdom of God works totally different, sacrifice is synonymous with Jesus' life, and it is also a key which leads to great power when we understand the grace of sacrifice.
