Options trading involves complex and risky strategies that are not appropriate for the average investor, which is why employee stock options that are available to individuals regardless of their investment knowledge tend to generate confusion among those who own them. Nathan explains the mechanics and tax treatment of employee stock options. Also, our MoneyTalk Moment in Financial History covers the history of the United States banking system.
Host: Nathan Beauvais, EA, CFP®, CIMA®; Air Date: 5/17/2023. Have a question for the hosts? Visit sowafinancial.com/moneytalk-radio to join the conversation!
Options are not suitable for all investors. Typically, commissions are charged for options transactions.
Transaction costs may be significant in multi-leg option strategies, including collars, as they involve
multiple commission charges. Please contact your financial advisor for a copy of the Options Disclosure
Document (ODD).”
An option is the right to buy or sell a specified amount or value of a particular underlying investment at a fixed exercise (or strike) price by exercising the option before its specific expiration date.
