Aimee grew up in a sugar-filled home (in reality, a sugar-filled world) and considers herself above average in the sugar consumption category.
After watching her grandmother bake sweets during her childhood, she became not only a fabulous baker but also a famous cake decorator. She appeared on TLC’s The Next Great Baker as a contestant in season 4. After this, her baking business soared. Her specialties were cookies, wedding cakes, cupcakes, birthday cakes, and more.
While consuming massive amounts of sugar her whole life, Aimee was now in her 50s experiencing excess weight, uncontrollable sugar cravings, self-loathing, lethargy, bloating, moodiness, and a bunch of other bad stuff we’d rather not talk about.
After joking about being a “sugar addict” for years, but never being able to kick the habit, Aimee finally became serious about wanting to lose weight for her daughter’s wedding in 2017. She found 30 Days Sugar Free once again (after signing up years before), and made the decision to stick with her commitment this time. She heard the words Change Takes Change loud and clear as she read Barry Friedman’s book “I Love Me More Than Sugar,” and decided to extend her 30 days sugar free to meet her next goal of 90 days sugar free.
It only took until about Day 50 of being sugar free for Aimee to realize there was no going back to the stuff that kept her sick and tired. She officially declared herself to be SFFL—Sugar Free For Life.
After taking a break from her baking business for three months, she realized she could not continue to be sugar free and at the same time bake delectable sweets for others. Throughout her first year of being sugar free, Aimee devoured books, podcasts, websites and conferences regarding living a sugar-free life. Her focus changed from helping herself get clean from sugar to helping others get off the stuff too. As she posted about her success on social media, friends and family noticed the changes and asked her to help them get off sugar. The ripple effect was happening! Even some of her parents, siblings, immediate and extended family stopped eating sugar.
As the Head Coach of 30 Days Sugar Free, Aimee empowers everyone who wants to get off sugar be successful.
