  • Severance

On this episode, I'm gushing about Severance, a horror science fiction psychological thriller television series from Apple TV that debuted last year. This show is a peak at a world in which our work life is completely severed from our home life through the severance program created by a very ominous company called Lumon Industries. We are introduced to the Macrodata Refinement team and also to the newest coworker who wants to escape this weird, creepy cubicle hell. She sounds like me on a daily basis. It's a short spoiler free shoutout to a show i'm late to the party about it but glad I finally arrived! For the title, Severance, the artist is Theodore Shapiro. Game Over Man! • Pieces of April
On this episode, I’m talking about what we can look forward to in horror on the big and small screen for the month of April 2023. From a papal exorcist with a lot of stats, a mother delving into spells to right some wrongs, a henchman who wants a life of his own, some deadites in the city and a fraidy-cat going on a decades long journey. Little pieces in April of some new things to watch. For the title, Pieces of April, the artist is Three Dog Night.

Also a lot of carnage in a place you'd least suspect. This was such an amazing season and it was a lot of fun recapping every episode for and with you. When you're lost in the darkness, look for the light and also listen to my voice to guide you through this outstanding season finale. For this episode, the song is The Path by Gustavo Santaolalla.

  • I'm Every Woman
On this episode, I'm discussing a few female directors of horror films for Women's History Month. Whether it’s about psychological horror, cannibalism, erotic vampires, killer coworkers or body horror with a dash of T & A, these female directors bring their own unique perspectives to the horror genre. I also give a little horror TED talk about showing the women in your life how much you appreciate them. Have a seat next to me on the couch and give a listen! For this title, I’m Every Woman, the artist is Chaka Khan.

  • The Last of Us-When We Are In Need

On this episode, I have another spoiler filled recap of The Last of Us episode eight, titled When We Are In Need. Ellie is still tending to Joel, we are introduced to a new group of survivors that have been eating some mystery meat and we get to see a glimpse of how violent Ellie can be and also how savage Joel really is when push comes to shove. An absolute banger of an episode that gives us one of my favorite moments between the two of them. Bring hankies but I'd steer away from any stew being offered from this new group of folks if I were you. For this episode, the song is The Last of Us theme, the composer and producer is Gustavo Santaolalla,

  • The Last of Us-Left Behind

On this episode, it's another spoiler filled recap of The Last of Us episode seven titled, Left Behind. This is an Ellie-centric episode and ripped from the DLC.  We see a lot of reasons why Ellie is a little badass and why she is afraid of being alone. Plus I say the word sweet way too many times but to me this was a very sweet episode and also a very bittersweet episode. Not too many episodes left but come hold my hand in the darkness and let's go through this together. I promise I won't leave you behind. For this episode, the song is I Got You Babe by Etta James, because of that one scene in this episode.

  • Black Girls
On this episode, since Black History Month is coming to an end I'm talking about my top five favorite Black final girls. Whether it's a deal with a voodoo lord of the dead, dealing with rats, solving deadly puzzles, outwitting a hostile alien or keeping demons from taking over the earth, these ladies have got a lot going on. I also made a faux pas when mentioning a tee company, it's Poltergeists and Paramours, not the way I say it on the episode, whoops. Plus, I give another Donna TED talk about the label of Strong Black Woman and being mindful of that particular way of thinking. Come listen to these survivors that are always letting me know I can make it to the end because they did. For this episode, the song is Black Girl, the artist is Lenny Kravitz.

  • The Last of Us-Kin
On this episode, I'm having another spoiler filled recap of The Last of Us episode six titled, Kin. We get to see other people in our fungi apocalyptic landscape, cross a River of Death, see a whole new world in Jackson and lots of gorgeous Western imagery. There's even a new addition to the Miller family (thanks Tommy) and I give a little Donna PSA on...you'll have to listen to find out. Get ready to ride into this episode and meet some kinfolk. For this episode, the song is Never Let Me Down, covered by Jessica Mazin, who happens to be the showrunner's 18 year old daughter. It’s not added to my podcast song playlist because it wasn’t available for streaming at the time this episode dropped.

On this episode, I'm discussing The Last of Us series episode five titled, Endure and Survive. This spoiler filled recap gives us a bit of backstory on Henry and Sam, more of Kathleen and her hunters, Joel being a deadeye with a rifle and a ton of Infected. Also, I give a little horror TED Talk about letting go of hatred and anger. Bring your hankies because you are going to need them. For this episode, the song is Fuel to Fire, the artist is Agnes Obel.

  • The Last of Us-Please Hold to My Hand
On this episode, I'm discussing The Last of Us episode four, Please Hold to My Hand. We get to see Joel and Ellie go camping and 20 year old Chef Boyardee, tell silly jokes on their road trip, encounter hunters and learn proper firearm techniques and meet a few new (possible) friends. Oh and I made another faux pas because the game and show blur but Joel and Ellie are in Kansas City, not Pittsburgh like the game. C'est la vie. Come give a listen and you can hold my hand anytime you want. For this episode, the song is Alone and Forsaken by Hank Williams.
