Thanks for checking out this new podcast. Don't Ever Gets Old seeks to encourage healthy and productive conversations about Aging, which, if you hadn't noticed, is happening to all of us. In both my personal experience and my professional experience as an occupational therapist working with older adults, there's either a complete lack of discourse on aging (sweeping the issues under the carpet) or there's nothing positive to be said - typically the conversation focuses on health problems and losses. Yes, there are challenges that come with aging, as with all stages of our lives, but there are also lots of new developments and opportunities that need to be discussed and explored.
This first episode is an interview with Heather Jeal - someone who has thought about aging and has involved herself in helping older adults by publishing the resource newsletter, Coast Seniors. She talks about staying busy and active in your older years, but also being realistic and pragmatic regarding sorting out your affairs. Her words are laced with wisdom and good humour.
Please contact me with comments on the episode, suggestions on guests you would like to hear interviewed and aging issues you would like to hear discussed in future episodes. Think of this podcast as sitting around a coffee or pub table putting the world to rights!
