Nancy and Jem Funk, Interior and Lighting Design with Premier Lighting, is Nancy's guest.  The subject of their conversation was about some of the suggestions designers make for residential interiors.  We agree that you people shouldn't do whatever the designer says if it's not your lifestyle.  Nancy and Jem gave their viewpoint on the following design trends:

  • Wall-to-wall carpet -  not practical but a good price point, comfortable to walk on
  • All white rooms -  hard to keep clean, needs color accents
  • Minimalist designs - or is maximal better?
  • Heavy Window Treatments - from the 80's, update with shades, panel drapes
