Whether the change we are faced with is good or bad, one thing she believes is that it always has a lesson and gives us an opportunity to grow as a person. In this episode Andrea sits down with her grandmother, an immigrant from Nicaragua and the first woman in her family to receive a college education. Her grandmother shares an insight of her journey to receiving her college education that lead her to a 29 year career as a social worker. From learning to assimilate to the American culture, to being a young wife and mother to 6 children and even the 15 year process it took her to receive her degree, she shares how her determination and resilience to accomplish her dream not only empowered her as a woman but it empowered others, especially the women in her circle to dream bigger. Little by little and one step at a time as long as you don't give up on yourself and your dreams you can better your life too. 

In this episode Andrea sits down with her grandfather to talk about how his perspective on life has given him an abundance of knowledge , empathy and acceptance not only for his own life  circumstances but how he has extended that to others. He shares how his victimless and open mindset has been the foundation for him and his family. With transparency and the willingness to have dialogue and learn from the past and grow from it, has not only made him a  better person but he has influenced many others, including Andrea, to want be better and continue making every generation better than the last.  When we learn, we can be better, not only for ourselves but for others. 

In this episode Andrea gives her listeners a vulnerable look inside of her running journey and how it came into her life to help her overcome the darkness she endured after her cousins suicide in June, three years ago. Andrea hopes this episode inspires you to live and move your body but most importantly she hopes it reminds you of your own resilience and to check in on the people around you because we never know what someone is going through.
