Artemis II’s overflight of the moon’s dark side has gotten most attention. But the mission’s most important target is the lunar south pole. It happens to be that of the Chinese Communist Party, too.
Who gets there first will likely determine who controls not only its water resources. They can be used to support a manned base and its operations, to make hydrogen for fuel for further space exploration and to project power from there to here.
And that, unfortunately, is the CCP’s plan.
So the question is: At what point will the United States recognize this reality and ensure that it not only beats the Chinese Communists to the moon but is able to defend it, as well?
