Sorry for missing a week. But we’re right back at it with a good hip-hop conversation. This week I’m joined by Cordell to discuss the best hip-hop sophomore album. We couldn’t narrow it down to just one so we each picked five. We gave our thoughts and opinions on them, and we also give Big his flowers for just being one of the best all-around artist ever. Great hip-hop conversation. Enjoy.
In this episode, I am joined by Bruce to discuss more HipHop topics. We start off discussing why songs change up from the way you originally heard them when it comes to streaming. We then ask why artist re- record their music and release it. We then get into a conversation about Outkast induction into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame, and why Andre 3K did not perform with Big Boi. We finish off with a debate: which era was more detrimental to overall society. Gangsta rap, or The Diddy shiny suit era? Beautiful instrumentals in the background. And we hope you enjoy this episode.
On this episode, I am joined by Cordell and we discuss whether mixtapes matter, and if they are even technically illegal in Today’s streaming Market. We also question whether it even matters now dropping a mixtape to build anticipation for an album or does it even matter anymore. We then get into a topic that I stole from Juan Ep, which was top DJ Premier Nas collaborations. Overall, good hip-hop Talk. Enjoy.
On this episode, I am joined by Edward Glover and comedian Kevy Kev from the Trippin’ without the luggage podcast. We start off with a boxing discussion in regard to Leila Ali and Clarissa Shields. We are joined by boxer Jamaal Davis (@datruth53) out of Philly on the call-in to give his thoughts on the situation. We then get into his boxing history as well. We then get into a conversation about ghost writing in hip-hop. Is it sacrilegious? Is it OK as long as you don’t claim, you’re the best? Dula and I along with Kevin get into a nice lengthy debate. I hope everybody enjoys it.
Interesting episode. I’m joined by Lael and my man Vinny and we are reacting in real time to the passing of the great D’Angelo. Neo soul icon. Lael gives a brief story of when he met him in Australia and some good advice that he received from the legend. We then go into Vinny‘s New York comicon trip and all of the superstars he saw. We then get into a conversation about whether having this much exposure online is abnormal behavior for the average human. Great adult combo. Enjoy.
This episode was a long time coming. But ladies and gentlemen, we finally got Big Al on the podcast. For those of you who do not know who Big Al 360 is, this is the perfect episode for you. From his early days in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, being a rapper to later getting an intern in Philadelphia at RUFFHOUSE records to getting recognized by Greg Street for his work ethic and producing one of the biggest hits you hear on major commercials every day and don’t even notice, this guy has done it all. Great stories. IF you’ve ever heard Nappy Roots “Good Day” , then you’ve heard Big Al 360s production. ENJOY!!!
Round table discussion on this episode. We get into a more deeper dive into the Jay Electronica three pack that we got a few weeks back. I’m joined this episode by Cordell, Vinny, Dula, and Reef hustle for the first time on the podcast. It’s always good Having emcees On here to talk about albums. We discuss the quirkiness and uniqueness of Jay electrónica albums Style and songs structure. Great hip-hop conversation.
You never know where the podcast is going to take you. This episode started off light then turned into a full On explanation of Muslim faith. BP myself in Dula started off talking about the new Jay Electronica EP’s.
And then it turned into an almost our long conversation about the difference between the NOI and the Ahki Muslims in Philly. Very informative episode if you were always curious about the different factions of the Muslim faith.
It doesn’t get any more positive than tonight’s episode. Dula and myself interviewed a gentleman we met online who reports all of the good in the world as opposed to the usual bullshit. Ladies, and gentlemen, I introduce to you to Passportlouis. From his early upbringing in Peoria Illinois to traveling the globe We discussed it all. From Celebrities Dm’ing praising him for “pumping the positivity” to his hip-hop ear growing up in the Midwest. We also talk about his music career and his clothing line. Great positive episode. Enjoy.
Thank you everybody for subscribing, commenting and sharing these episodes. I’m joined by Cordell and Dula to have our debate of discography. Cordell brought up the question: Who has a better three run album? Outkast or Kanye West? We went to production, quality of albums, and then get into entire discography of both artists. Great hip-hop conversation. Enjoy.
