Australia has always punched above its weight in the brilliance of its cartoonists. Cartoonist (and one-time Canberra resident) Judy Horacek gives her perspective on Inked, the NLA’s new cartoon exhibition – what she loves about cartoons and the cartoons she loves. She will give some insights into her own work, and how the profession has changed in the three decades she has been in it, and her musings about whether the medium will survive in this new age.
Judy’s work has been published in all over the world. At different times she has had regular gigs in The Age, the Australian and the Canberra Times. She is currently published two days a week in the Age. Judy also makes children’s picture books, both on her own and with Mem Fox.
