My guest today has quite a story when it comes to HIV discrimination because his discrimination came directly from his employer, the United States military .  Ken Pinkela has been fighting this battle for over 10 years and is still, to this day, continuing to fight for his innocence.  So much was stripped from this man who gave his heart and soul to the job he loved so dearly.  You'll love Ken, he’s one of the kindest humans I know and I’m beyond honored to have him on my podcast to share his unforgettable story.

My guests today are Ashley and Jim, Ashley is HIV+, Jim is not.  They share their disclosure story with us explaining how Jim actually felt relief that Ashley's big confession was HIV.  Yes, relief!  For those who don't live with HIV, it's not the virus that's difficult, not even the medication, it's the stigma surrounding the virus and disclosing to potential partners.  Give it up for Ashley and Jim!  Woot woot!

It's my absolute pleasure to share this very special chat with you in honor of World AIDS Day (December 1st).  My guest today is none other than Judd Winick from Season 3 of The Real World San Francisco or as many remember, Pedro Zamora's close friend and roommate.  In 1994, Pedro Zamora became the first HIV+ person to appear on a reality tv show.  He showed the world what HIV and AIDS was for him, that he was a person living with AIDS, not dying from it.  Pedro lost his battle with AIDS before the year ended (Nov. 11, 1994) and the world mourned together as we had all fallen in love with this beautiful human.
