What happens when your worst fear becomes your reality? This week's guest is Joey Ramos, or as I know him, “Romo”. He has a heartfelt, gripping story that takes the listener on a journey from a Texas State Maximum Prison to Leavenworth Federal Prison Camp, and then back to Federal “Bloody Beaumont” Maximum Prison in Texas. Romo struggles, but he is always trying to find the right path through his strong Catholic faith. His emotional conversation explores the violence of gangs behind the walls, and his own survival in a dangerous world. Romo believes his passion for boxing saved his life as young teenager. He is now out of prison and helping others as a coach in the boxing world, which fills him up believing he is making a difference in young peoples’ lives.

Romo was my first bunkmate and a tremendous help to me getting "set-up" in the Leavenworth world.
