Situated pleasantly on the more unconventional end of music and sound, Vancouverite Jen P aka Nancy Dru has a kind of important message embedded throughout her style. Engaging in her sets is like sitting with her at a card table while the chaos of the casino persists in the periphery: glances of determination alongside a type of stoicism about fun are passed around, undermining your confidence of the game, questioning your initial goal to win, diffusing what you thought it meant to win at anything.Known internationally during the IDM days as The Square Root of Evil, Jen now delivers dense, driven techno, as solid as urban pavement. Nancy Dru is where Jen's personal and deep comprehension of sound marches through each corner and transition of her set. Rendering her work more potent is its vocal aridness. Though this style is alive with language, it is an idiosyncratic, non-verbal kind, accessible to all who are at least level two versed in techno. Aos is a Seattle-based producer and DJ whose musical explorations are influenced by her interest in the haphazard, subversive nature of DIY spaces as well as deep curiosity in the contrast between the textural and the rhythmic. A product of Tacoma, Washington's vivid metal, punk, and electronic underground, she established her eclectic brand as a DJ on KUPS, the area’s esteemed college radio station, before bringing her heady strains to Seattle. She is now an active member of the female identified / non-binary collective, TUF, and makes music alongside her peers as a member of the singular collective, Secondnature.

Bio:

Percussionist, DJ, sonic collage artist, and producer E.M. Malinowski has been playing and combining music for nearly twenty years. Serving formerly as a keyboardist and drummer for several projects and post-folk outfits ranging from Canadian act Man meets Bear to Danish artist Crystal Shipsss, it is safe to say that Experimental Housewife is a multifarious, engaged musician. When looking at her long DJ career, which began awkwardly young when she was 12-years-old, there is little room for counterargument in stating that ExHouse is a seasoned and well-informed selector. Her sound is loud, narratorial, genre defiant, and tightly sewn. Her sets – whether hybrid, live, or DJ – are replete with rhythmic force smothered in nostalgic drone that seamlessly traverse expectations as well as eras; it is a complex canopy that spans and includes a variety of listeners. No matter who they are, they are left with an amount of satisfying shock.
