DOOMER V. BLOOMER

On this week's episode, we talk to PDX based activists Adam & Tim about abolitionism (police, prison, etc.), its goals and P R A X I S, and what roles music and art play within those struggles.

On this weeks episode, we have the lovely, yet sad af Paige on to talk about climate crisis/pessimism, its affect on mental health, and how anarchism can give us hope in an otherwise dark and scary world. We also talk about doing whippits.

Franz discovered GTA V and is now depressed. Following her intense Halloween method performance as JOKER, the pod is now in dire straits. Without the vital bloomer energy to keep the Doom in check, there can be no balance in the Podesphere. It is now up to Kami to save Franz from the same fate that once claimed him, and save the pod from being completely consumed by the forces of Doom. We also talk about early 00's emo/scene.

Spoopy season is upon us.

The sun's light is pale and distant, and the nights grow longer and colder.

The hippie vampires are among us, hidden in plain view; eating kale and putting runic trinkets in their foul dreads. Their tumblrs fill up with "artful" interpretations of swastikas, and they make fast allies with nazi and white liberal alike. They shroud themselves in thick cloaks of ambiguity, half-truths and half-meanings. They speak of ancestral blood magick, the earth, and how only "they" can heal it. Their runes invoke Odin, the Black Sun, and they pray to their perverted pagan idols to give them the power to "deliver" this world from degeneracy - to make it "pure" again.

These are the crypto-fascists. They stand among us, at metal shows, wearing symbols and runes on their denim jackets that look like writhing masses of swastikas, trying to explain the Buddhist origin of the swastika, always claiming to be exactly the opposite of what they really are: Nazi. Scum.

On this, our 13th episode, professors/professional vampire hunters Diego and RRRR discuss this foul scourge that has befall the land, it's origins, and give a first hand account of our frightening encounter as we attempted to disrupt a meeting of their crypto-fascist coven.

It’s time for another round of “Franz explains theory to Kami”. Social reproduction theory is framework of analysis that looks at labor that is done outside the traditional work place, such as household labor, child raising and caregiving. Broadening our understanding of the economy from just the “productive” sphere to also include the “reproductive” sphere helps to highlight women’s historical role as laboring subjects under capitalism. Social reproduction theory can and should also inform what a post-capitalist society should look like and how we can get there.
