  • 6. Concord's Fight for Rent Control with Betty Galbadon

Hello and welcome to the Doomloop Dispatch, the show that covers the worst parts of the San Francisco Bay Area. For this episode, I talk with Betty Gabaldon of the East Bay Alliance for a Sustainable Economy. We discuss the fight for rent control and just cause eviction in Concord, where the city council passed a measure that other forces tried to stop. Betty also tells her own story and why she fought for the measure.

  • 4. The Network State with Gil Duran

Welcome to the Doomloop Dispatch, the show that covers the worst parts of the San Francisco Bay Area. This episode I follow up on Bilal Mahmood's scandal over claiming he was a neuroscientist, as well as cover a mayoral candidate's plans to use the National Guard to stop the fentanyl crisis and how a surveillance company is using the police to spread its technology. But the best part of this interview is journalist Gil Duran. Duran has worked for the Sacramento Bee and the SF Examiner, and before then he worked for notable California politicians like Dianne Feinstein and Jerry Brown.

Duran and I talk about a subject near and dear to his heart -- the Network State, a fascist cult being led by techie tyrant Garry Tan and the former CTO of Coinbase, Balaji Srinivasan. The Network State is all about capturing cities and changing them so they cater to tech elites, and we get into how psychotic that is.

We get into Scott's background and his issues with saying horrible things, including sending threats. We also get deep into Oakland's battle against an unfavorable media narrative and the genocide occurring in Gaza.

  • 1. The Phoenix Papers

Welcome to Doomloop Dispatch, the podcast about the worst parts of the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m Kevin L. Jones, and I’m here to tell you about what’s going on in the Bay, including the facts the media conveniently leaves out.

On this episode I talk with Julie Pitta and Jeremy Mack of the Phoenix Project, which documents all the funding going into right wing -- excuse me, "moderate" -- causes in San Francisco. Will the faux progressives succeed in taking over the city? We have thoughts.
