In this episode of Going Back to Smallville, we’re breaking down “Doomsday” and talking about everything that worked for us, everything that hurt, and why this finale still leaves us excited for Season 9. From Jimmy’s heartbreaking death and the birth of Watchtower to Lois disappearing with the Legion ring and the shocking arrival of Zod, this episode throws a lot at us emotionally. We really enjoyed it overall, even if the Clark vs. Doomsday fight felt a little smaller than we hoped for considering this is basically Smallville’s take on The Death of Superman. Still, “Doomsday” delivers big finale energy, major consequences, and one of the most emotional endings of the entire series.
