Various scriptures - In this message we looked at the overarching story of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament and how it builds toward the hope for a messiah to come and put things right. Mark 6:1-6 - Jesus returns briefly to his hometown but is met with agitation rather than a hero's welcome. In this passage we're reminded of how easy it is to let overfamiliarity with Jesus produce a tragic boredom, indifference, or even opposition to him, his glory, and the path of discipleship.
