Last weekend, Tom Lipschultz, SQPat, RadicalR, and I went on a shopping trip to Akihabara! Skip the Super Potato, we hit up the good ones! BEEP, Suruga-ya, and Traders 1 were our retro-PC gaming stores of choice.

This week we're (finally) getting to my favorite Japanese retro PC, the NEC PC-88! (Or "hachi-hachi" as Japan calls it.) Joining me is special guest, Techfury, who has worked extensively behind the scenes in retro PC communities. This week is all about hardware, and next week is THOSE PC-88 GAMES!!!

It's time to discuss The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (one of my favorite games of ALL TIME) as well as its new remake for Switch!

Special thanks to John Szczepaniak for info that (I believe) came from his book The Untold History of Japanese Game Developers.
