Hey guys. Do you ever "ration" shows or movies? Like, even though you love it, you try to limit the amount of times you binge it because (like with the records of old,) it diminishes ever so slightly with every rewatch? I do that. Well some movies I just enjoy so much that there's no such thing as diminishing returns, and they're perpetually amazing (The Dark Knight, Shanghai Noon, etc.). But often even the best stuff can become a bit stale. Avengers is one of those movies for me, it's such a great film but I try to keep it fresh. Unfortunately every rewatch makes me realize more and more how slow the first act is, and how badly handled Hawkeye was. But I love it, and I share a bit on how special for me personally and at large the release of the OG Avengers was.
Enter a Cap Rant:
As a real Cap fan, Avengers always struck me as a step down from the level of significance that Captain America should wield on the team. At the time I felt a little short changed by how Joss handled Steve Rogers and his role in the Avengers. But what I have to pay respect to is Captain America truly evolves into the most developed team member (though subtly), and earns the place on the team that we all expected coming from the comics. By Winter Soldier we see a much darker and grittier Cap, definitely being effected by his experiences and the modern world. And Avengers 2 finally shows us Captain America as the acting captain of the Avengers, calling the shots and leading from the front. The Marvel universe's heroes look to Cap, for direction and guidance. And though he's not as widely known in the MCU as in the comics, they definitely do that element of C.A. justice. From then on he only gets better, but by the time we reach Infinity War he seems ready to cross the Nomad arc off of his to do list too.
Also, Black Squad: a lot of fast, easy fun. And oh yeah, it's free! That's always the best right. This game feels like the Walmart brand Counter Strike, but that's not totally a bad thing. It's tight gameplay, good weapons and a fun free to play shooter with friends.
Thanks for listening folks.
