Tell me a quarantine hobby you started in 2020. For me, it was maybe cooking or painting. For Malia, it was learning how to fly a plane and pivoting career paths. Malia, based in Southern California, started out as a pre-med student and it wasn't until last year early in the pandemic, that she decided that maybe that wasn't the right path for her. She never thought about being a pilot despite having a pilot in the family. It's crazy how that changed and how she is now passionate about making change in the pilot industry which has been male-dominated traditionally. What started out as just a fun little hobby has turned into a successful TikTok and really a mission for Malia.

Sojourner from The Sojournies and I met years back on social media. She had just completed Fulbright and was also a college student like me. I was seeking friends who were traveling like I was and finding ways to do it for free. Sojourner completed a Fulbright and also participated in AmeriCorps! She's traveled extensively and now works full-time as a social worker.

Nabila is joined with Zenith Irfan, also known as Pakistan's Motorcycle Girl. At the age of 21, she decided to take a solo trip by bike in Pakistan. While it was a transformative and spiritual journey, she broke stereotypes in the making. She grew up in a liberal household and her mother encouraged her to ride the bike but she knew that it wasn't common for girls to ride bikes in Pakistan.

Zenith shares her story on why she decided to take these trips by bike, what it meant for her, and what she's up to now! 

So many pharmacists come to me and say that they aren't satisfied with their profession, they feel underutilized, and that what they do doesn't matter. On today's episode, I share how we can find confidence in our profession and where we can make a difference. It takes small changes but ultimately, comes down to mindset.

I found myself struggling and miserable at times. I'm in a much better place now, but how did I find my love for pharmacy again? I had a change in mindset, tuned out people who really didn't matter, and believed in myself and didn't give up.

Saba was working a full-time job until she got laid off in March. She became a Virtual Assistant(VA) to make a living, and to her surprise (lots of hard work & self-learning later), she hit her first 5 figure month and started her own business! She now teaches others, 35 students to be exact, on how to become a VA, work for yourself, and become a digital nomad! She answers just exactly how she started and how she went from unemployed to making more money than she ever has within 7 months!

I graduated from Pharmacy School in 2019 and started my first job as a retail pharmacist, after what feels like forever, I changed career paths.

Sure, I can travel from time to time but last year, I moved all of my belongings from New York to Los Angeles, CA by myself.  The move was much harder than I thought between finding a sublease, roommates, apartment hunting, making friends, and dealing with the depression and loneliness that comes with it!
