There's so much you can do that's new in the Routines section of your A-lady app that I think it's about time we took another look.
Penny Golden ([email protected]) is back with a tour de force demo of two similar skills, the second being from our old favourites; Voxogenic Technologies. Let's opine about lupine laziness here. Why doesn't the fickle Mr Wolf just get up and take a few steps towards his dinner if he's that interested? I think he's full of wind myself.
The classic game of chess brought to your Echo. The board is visible on an Echo Show or Spot or via the app or A-lady website at http://alexa.amazon.co.uk. Every move is saved and you can come back at any time to continue the game or just remind yourself of the board with "Alexa, ask chessboard to show me the board."
Listen to those exhausts. Check out that accelleration. Is it a German, Japanese or American car being put through its paces in this sound-based quiz for the acoustically adept auto enthusiast?
Another Audible/Amazon skill again today. With more stories than before, this family-friendly assortment of audio adventures will provide a nice, undemanding dose of daring-do without your having to move a muscle from the sofa. We follow it up with a quick reminder of the free audio books available on the A-lady each month.
Today we look at an Audible (and hence Amazon) skill to help you choose your next audio book but, I must say, it's a bit of a mess. c'mon Amazon.
Tiffany Black is back. Yes, Tiffany Black (@1modernmonster on the Twitters) is here again to bring us a brilliant demo of what, I'm reliably informed, is already a pretty popular game on your smartphone. If you're into trivia, why not have a bit of a crack at this one?
Interested in predicting the scores of the up-coming week's football fixtures? Yes? Good. Glad to hear it. I didn't think you would be. What's that? You thought I meant American football and not soccer? No, sorry. It's the football that has the round ball and no armour. Still a bit interested? Good. You might want to check out today's skill then. You'll think about it? Well, I can't ask for more than that really. It's not bad and probably worth a listen. It's definitely better than the fish aquarium skil the other day - but probably not as good as tomorrow's which is based on a well-known trivia game. But that's not coming out till then so if you have a few minutes today… You said you'd think about it? OK. Great. Good. I'll leave you in peace then. Until tomorrow then. OK. Bye. Bye then.
This episode is the 999th in the feed (it's true.) Whilst you can always go to the Dot to Dot website to listen to all the squillion and a half episodes we've had so far, if you're grabbing them via a podcast app that's subscribed via iTunes (which most probably are), then you may want to get those early episodes while you can as we're now on download number 999 and that's the limit (yikes!)
All the way from Australia, where women glow and men do real men-type activities (like recording podcasts in the scorching heat of the midday sun with only air-conditioning, a cool beverage and comfy chair to lessen the ordeal), Phillip Chalker is back to bring us a brilliant demo of a skill that could really help on the off-chance that we need a clear head and a steady hand when it comes to that tricky topic of zoo management.
