Dot to Dot - the daily 5min Alexa demo show

Today we look at three randomly-chosen examples of the 'A Moment Of…' skills. There are squillions of them (that's a technical term - it means; 'An exact amount that remains as yet unconfirmed because the person using the term can't be bothered to go and count them all') so do check them out by searching for that phrase in the skill store.

Wow - We've made it through a whole year! Today's episode, which marks 365 days of almost entire audio agony (with brief reprieves when you guys step in), is very fittingly brought to you by a listener. Big R's back with a really lip-smacking juicy one called Twisted Tales. Thanks everso @TheBigR.

Today's quick tip about asking the A-lady for some help getting started with skills, quickly turns into revisiting the excellent 'Question of the Day' quiz. It's worth a reprise, though. Love that skill.

Today Sam's back to show us how, even if you're a fully-fledged football genius, you can still stumble over questions from approximately a million and a half years ago when they were obviously kicking a brontesaurus bladder about. Give him some up-to-date trivia, though, and he's pretty much on-target every time.

If you want to be insulted by a grumpy yet strangely self-satisfied bloke then this skill might be for you. BTW if it isn't to insulting to ask, I'd really love it if you would tell/tweet to your friends about DTD using the hashtag #DTDPod - thanks muchly

Woohoo! We can now ask the A-lady to directly translate words and phrases into dozens of different languages for us. Esto es fantastico!

It's your basic choose-your-own-adventure sort of a skill today. It's tone is terribly taciturn as you take your turns moving through this mysterious manor - but that's a good thing if you ask me. I do enough waffling for the both of us. Good luck with this one guys.

In this additional episode I plug the RNIB's Tech Talk podcast, the excellent hosts of which I blame for being the reason why I started Dot to Dot in the first place. If you have a visual impairment and you love tech then please do subscribe to their excellent show. I also mention about the Echo Spot that's coming on sale here in the UK tomorrow!

If you like the singer Paloma Faith (and you probably need to have kids too) then today's skill is for you. Although even then it might come across as creepy rather than cool. Creepy or cool? Let listeners know with £DTDPod
