How can I create energy and growth?

I'm in a push period and want to achieve a specific rank and an enrollment goal that I want to meet. I'm working to connect with people but I'm coming up with a lot of rejections. Is my energy of excitement actually a turn off? How can I avoid jumping on people with too much energy?
