The following is a re-recording of the thoughts and reflections given by Gabe at DMF's Hanukkah party which is held annually on the final night of Hanukkah. Are we dispelling darkness with our light or are we being influenced by darkness? This is the question we must ask ourselves on a daily basis with every word, thought and action.
In this week's teaching, Gabe looks at Torah portion Vayigash and explores the questions: what principles are there to be learned from the life of Yosef? How do we apply these principles to our lives? In the last portion of the teaching, Gabe discusses our roles as disciples of Yeshua. For 2,000 years, the church has created a portrait of Messiah that is antithetical to the Jewish expectations of a Messiah. Are we still doing the same thing. As a result of inaccurately representing Yeshua, this creates a stumbling block for the Jewish people to accept him as their messiah. It is important we represent the life and teachings of Yeshua in their proper historical and theological context.
We pray this teaching is a source of blessing and encouragement for you. For more information on Dothan Messianic Fellowship, visit our website at www.dothanmessianicfellowship..
Join Jonathan Wriston and the rest of DMF as they discuss Torah portion Mikketz. Jonathan explores two major questions in this teaching: What is true wisdom and how do we know it when we see it?
In this week's teaching, Gabe goes through Torah portion Vayeshev and pulls out many of the parallels between the lives of Yosef and Yeshua. Each of these men are a picture of suffering and atonement for others. They are both a catalyst for redemption and liberty from bondage. We then talk about what it looks like to suffer like Yosef suffered. For more information on Dothan Messianic Fellowship, visit www.dothanmessianicfellowship.com.
In this week's teaching, we will look at Torah portion Vayishlach and ask ourselves the question: what if Jacob and Esau had resolved their conflict? What if they had embraced their destinies and been a force of tikkun (repair) in the world? We then move into Matthew 18 and discuss the template that our Master Yeshua gives us to resolve conflict as it arises in a Biblical community. On December 12th, 2019, we welcomed Jim and Keitha Lanley back to DMF after living five months in Myanmar as missionaries and English teachers. The following is the audio recording of Jim's update. To learn how you can support Jim and Keitha, please email us at [email protected]
In this teaching, Gabe goes through the history of Hanukkah, why it became an established holiday by the times of Yeshua and what it might have looked like in the 1st century. He then transitions onto how we celebrated this holiday and why it is important for followers of Yeshua to use this 8 day celebration to commemorate the Light of the World, Yeshua. Join Jeremy Miller as he breaks down this week's torah portion, Toldot. He looks at the symbolism Paul is using in Romans 9 to ask the question, "are we living more like a child of God or a child of the 'old nature/flesh'?" We hope this teaching blesses and strengthens you in your walk with Yeshua. For more information on Dothan Messianic Fellowship, visit www.dothanmessianicfellowship.com
We apologize for the beginning of this teaching being cut off by several seconds. Join Adrian as he leads a teaching and discussion on Torah portion Chayei Sarah. For more info on Dothan Messianic Fellowship, visit www.dothanmessianicfellowship.com.
Join Gabe and other members of DMF as they dissect torah portion Vayera together. We explore the questions: how should we intercede for the lost? How do we pray for those who are in unrepentant sin? Visit www.dothanmessianicfellowship.com for more teachings like these.
