Forgiveness is the act of granting mercy or pardon to someone who has wronged you, releasing feelings of anger, resentment, and the need for retribution. It's a conscious decision to let go of negative feelings and to seek reconciliation with the person who caused harm. It is often considered a positive character trait and can play an important role in promoting healing and maintaining healthy relationships.

Remember that forgiving someone doesn't necessarily mean forgetting what happened or condoning their actions. It's about finding peace and letting go of negative emotions so that you can move forward.
