Women take centre stage as we explore one of the movies Margot Robbie watched asinspiration for her performance in Barbie which give us insight into one of the many movie references that went into building one of the most important movies of the century! For our first episode, we take a dive into complex narrative structure and unreliable narrators with David Fincher's The Social Network (2010) and Akira Kurosawa's Rashamon (1950). The Social Network is a personal favourite of ours and when we heard that it had a lot in common with a classic Kurosawa film that neither of us were familiar with, we were intrigued. But will they make a good double feature? Let's find out.
