This episode takes us through a re-cap of the season and the girls discuss how they grew throughout the season along with their joys and challenges of collaborating again after years of being on independent journeys. They also tease us with what’s to come next season. 

Nell and Laine open up their shared notes document from the last 2 weeks to discuss topics like morning and bedtime routines and the lack thereof. They evolve into the the topic of the importance of executive functioning skills and our struggles as parents attempting to instill responsibility. Oh, and a quick debrief of a girls trip to NYC and the way things have changed since their 20’s. Lastly, how there is always something to learn from observing JLo’s journey.

Double Trouble goes on a deep dive with Suzanne Warye, the thought provoking digital creator and renegade behind the The Sober Mom Life podcast. She takes us through her journey—from motherhood, to professional life, and most profoundly, her decision to become spontaneously sober. She shares the ways in which this simple decision has changed her life, changed her inner dialogue, and ultimately, has given her a new purpose. By “telling the truth”, Suzanne has gained an entire community and continues to open the door to sobriety for so many women in need of a change. A delightfully honest and thought provoking interview!

The Sober Mom Life

The girls discuss their experiences and observations in regard to beauty standards, particularly as women who have arrived to the decade of their 40’s. They speak honestly and openly about their evolving opinions and considerations as they continue to “grow up”. Nell and Laine also explore the implications of interventions being marketed more towards younger generations, with some targeting individuals even before the aging process begins.

The interview that Barbara Walters never snagged! Nell & Laine dive deep into the stories and culture of the Airline business through the years, interviewing 50 year career Flight Attendant, Therese Curtis. From carving roasts in the aisle, to uniform requirements & weigh ins, all the way to the current reality of packaged foods and employee buyouts. This interview is shocking and nostalgic at once. Did we forget to mention that this iconic woman is our mother?

Nell and Laine chat about some of the challenges we face when it comes to technology and devices. Firstly, in adult life, and secondly, with the next generation. The girls touch on the tough balance between convenience, safety, and also, over-monitoring when it comes to children and devices. When there is no clear right or wrong approach to tech in the fam, it’s even harder to discern what is too much or just enough.  A refreshing convo based mostly on real life experience and personal questioning, absolutely free of judgement and advice to listeners…an easy and inevitably relatable convo to join!

Rachel is the creator, designer, and founder behind two multimillion dollar jewelry brands; Rachel Lynn Chicago and Rachel Lynn by Corri Lynn. We go way back, as Rachel shares, publicly for the first time, the story of the inception of both of her successful jewelry brands.

Laine and Nell dive into the challenges of adult friendships, reflecting on their experiences of both gaining and losing friends. They discuss the two main reasons for friendship loss—either a slow fizzle or a series of traumatic events. The hosts highlight the changing dynamics of relationships as life evolves, touching on the impact of kids, career shifts, and relocations.
