(05:56) Action #3 – The Door
If your answer is yes to this question, you may be in theright place. I say “may be” because these are 2 very complex energies that we all have to deal with throughout our lives. They are the results of other things that are also taking place in your life at that moment in time.
But I say let’s start here and later, when the immediateneed is over, we can look at other things.
From link below, download FREE Actions #1-3 and let’sget started. This download package will ask you for your name and email. Know beforehand that I will use this info ONLY to send you the download package . No spam-o-rama from me.
For your convenience, I have included a brief description ofwhat’s in this download package below.
Although there are 3 separate actions, starting with Action #1 will give you immediate relief.
Action #1: Download this FREE “Turn Down The Noise” Mental Exercise. This is a quick, easy mental exercise that you can learn to do from the mp3. Once learned and practiced, you can add your own tweaks to it and then memorize it. Then you can do it anytime, anywhere.
Matter of fact, when I recorded it, I was thinking aboutthis common scenario:
You are stuck in traffic after a hard day at work. Your emotions are rubbed raw, your ability to cope is draining out the floorboard as you are waiting for traffic to move. Added to this are all the emotions you still have about the loved one that you have lost.
In this scenario, search for & find an off ramp to take you to well lit, public parking that feels safe. Pull in, drop your fee in the meter if required. Walk around your vehicle a few times just to stretch kinks out of your body.
Then, get back in your vehicle, roll down the window a fewinches to get fresh air, lock the door for added security. Lean back, close your eyes and do the Exercise from the download.
Action #2: To get the most out of Action #2, please do Action #1 first.
If you have just finished Action #1, let’s continue with Action #2.
Listen to the download titled “Define Your Zero” Mental Exercise. Depending on your needs, this can be a very quick, short exercise to get you through the moment. It can then become something that you add to as time goes by. Or, if you are like me, you can start to blend this exercise into your longterm life planning sessions.
Let’s use the same scenario that we used in Action #1.
This Action #2 exercise is actually fun to do, because youget to turn on your powers of daydreaming. This is a crucial step, because it will be your roadmap out of anxietyand overwhelm.
Action #3: To get the most out of this action, please do Action #1 and 2 first.
Once finished with these, let’s continue with Action #3.
Listen to the download titled “The Door” Mental Exercise.
Action #3 is a solid physical act that you will do to bringclosure to your immediate need to escape from the anxiety and overwhelm of this day. This will be a way for you to beginagain. The beauty of this action is that it can become a stand-alone technique that you can do every day, anywhere. It will give you control over your life again.
I wish you love, peace, hope and inspiration.

Each family unit has their own frame of reference from which they view the subject of death. I believe that a grieving young person will need the guidance of a parent or legal guardian to see if my frame of reference is compatible with theirs. The purpose of step 1 is to help you survive the recent loss of a loved one. To make this creation process as easy as possible, I have included chapters, so you can skip right to whatyou need in the recording.
Chapter 1:
Why Do You Need A “Space Of Grace”?
Simply put, it is a spiritual, physical, emotional and mental“timeout”. When you first experience loss, it is a way to get a grip on your personal self so that you can survive what comes next. Knowing how to slip into this space allows you to leave a current state of being and enter a pause.
And then, when ready, it guides you into returning to yourlife from a calmer state of being.
Everything is easier to cope with and to learn from thiscalmer state of being. I will ask that you spend the time necessary to enter your “space of grace” before each of thesessions where I will teach you how to build you “Grief Zone”.
Once learned, you can use this “space of grace” as that quick “timeout” any time for the rest of your life.
What Is A “Space Of Grace”?
To me, a “Space Of Grace” is something that I build in mymind. I go to this space when I need:
1. Unconditional love for myself.
2. Unconditional acceptance of myself at that moment in time.
3. Unconditional respect for who I am and where I have been.
4. And I allow myself to express healthy curiosity, so that I can ask myself the tough questions on why, what, where, when and how to move forward.
CHAPTER 2:
Prepare To Build And/Or Use Your Space Of Grace:
But before we can build or get to your “space of grace”, wehave to make sure you are safe physically and mentally. Before you begin this session, please make sure that:
1. If you are experiencing a physical health crisis – call 911 immediately
2. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please call 988 or click on this link: https://988lifeline.org/
3. You are in a safe place physically, and are able to be warm or cool depending on what your personal preferences will require
4. Have healthy snacks available
5. Have water available
6. You can create a comfortable place to either sit or lay down
Also try to select a time or a day of the week that willallow you to have as much privacy and quiet as is possible within your life.
CHAPTER 3:
PREP FOR THE MEDITATION:
The first time you hear or watch this recording, treat it as a guided meditation. Then, after that, review the recording toactually “do” the steps recommended.
Once you have learned how to build your own “space of grace”, you will no longer need the recording. Also, youwill no longer have to go through the elaborate physical preparation we have gone through today. As it becomes more comfortable through repetition, you will be able to go into and out of it quickly, smoothly and anywhere.
CHAPTER 4 – The Meditation:
CHAPTER 5: Re-Cap:
You have now created your first “space of grace”, you now know what it feels like, so you can recreate it when needed.
This will be very important in the future, because it won’t always be practical to spend this much time calling it up. But with practice, you will teach yourself how to quickly slip into it, how to benefit from time spent there and then how to release it with the reverence due to yourself.
I will ask you to enter your “space of grace” when I start teaching you how to do “Step 1: Create Your Grief Zone”.
Until then, I send you love, peace, hope and inspiration.
If you are experiencing a physical health crisis – call 911 immediately
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please call 988 or click on this link: https://988lifeline.org/

Today we are going to talk about what is your grief zone, why do you need one and how can you start.
The Grief Zone starts out as a healthy escape from thecrushing weight of your immediate grief. It is a “space of grace” where you can bank the spiritual and emotional energy that you will need to live a life without that loved one. Over time, the original purpose may expand out, becoming that sacred space you retreat to when contemplating otherimportant life changes.
Immediately, it is a place you create that allows you toseparate the “real life” demands from the sacred time that you need to properly grieve the loss of your loved one.
Today, I am not going to start this discussion with those “real life” demands. You already know them, you are there, you are right in the thick of it, right now. Just know that you can do this. In your darkest night, in your saddest day, and in your loneliest hour, just know that you have what it takes to getthrough this part of your journey.
So, for the next few minutes, take a break while I introduce you to the Grief Zone, so that you have something to daydream about when you are feeling crushed by the reality of your life right now. Someday, in your real life, it will become less about survival and more about learning to live with this loss. Then and now, I want you to create this day dream and when ready, I will show you how to turn it into reality. I will be here to help you walk through every step of the process, so don’t worry, it is not just another “make work” for you to do alone.
When I was struggling to escape the new reality of life, needing to review our memories together and just let my love for them pour out in hot tears and then quiet acceptance and finally, extreme gratitude for getting to be a part of their lives, and loves, I compartmentalized my life.
For every “reality of life” I had to face, I tracked the time. And then I gave equal time to grieving my loved ones the way that I chose. I started thinking of this as my “grief zone” time. And thus, the idea was born and titled. Continuing to use this whole idea, that while I was cherishing the memories of my loved ones, I might as well include the things I like to do, but had no more time for. Such as actively daydreaming my future, physical activity, or artistic endeavors like creative writing.
Now, you could include any type of activity, as long as itallows you to continue gathering spiritual and emotional strength. After a while, I started noticing that my Grief Zone stability and peace of mind was seeping into the “real life” demands time. Of course, these real life demandswere becoming less cruel and intrusive, at the same point. So I don’t really know which one came first or which one did the most good. But either way, I noticed that I was beginning to feel much more comfortable in taking much more control in the direction of my life.
My Grief Zone daydreams were starting to take realshape. So what did this look like, what shape did they take and can you do the same thing?
My daydreams involved how I was going to live without myloved ones. I dreamed about honoring their lives by making mine count in some way. I wanted to show them that their contributions to my life had mattered. I wanted to take the ball from their hands and run it into the game zone of our lives.
I am and have always been an entrepreneur and coach. So, I knew that my dream was going to be realized by helping people. And when adding up all the components, they equaled what I am doing today, while you are listening in.
Yes, you can do the same thing. It just takes your imagination and the willingness to give it the time required. The wonderful thing is that you get to decide what time that willbe.
When you are ready to create your own Grief Zone, do thesevery important things:
Ran out of characters, please listen!

Self care is the most important priority always, especiallyafter losing a loved one.
Deep, healing sleep matters most of all! After losingeach of my loved ones, I retreated into myself sleeping as much as I could. The pain and overwhelm was so big, so unimaginable that my body completely shut down. I believe this was MY body's healthy response, because while in sleep, the reality was gently rolling into my consciousness.
Grief is also physical. Whether you want to or not, makesure to eat balanced meals. Eat enough calories and nutrients to help your body get through this time. Drink water to stay hydrated.
Absolutely avoid alcohol or recreational drugs right now,you don't need the extra drama.
If you decide to follow this advice and have been a heavydrinker up to now, please ask those medical professionals for help in stopping.Depending on your consumption habits, quitting cold turkey could be dangerous.
Did you have a regular exercise routine before your loss?
If you did, modify it to fit and keep doing it. If you did not, consider taking up short walks in nature.
“Real life” won’t let you get away with “grieving” for long, or at all.If you have family or friends nearby, let them helpyou. Let them send you food, help you take care of your affairs, help you keep track of and handle the immediate legal and financial details of death.
If you do not have any others that you can trust to do these things for you, hire out what you can. Or, if this is not possible, pace yourself. Consciously choose your most productive times of day to work on these issues. In this productive time only, prioritize by importance and get things done quickly. And then stop. Now is not the time to become bogged down with unnecessary busy work. Really! If it wasn't importantbefore this loss, it can wait until later, when life is less chaotic!
I will add a new post to this playlist every 4th week on Wednesday mornings.

In the Intro to this podcast, remember I mentioned things I wish I had done and didn’t do immediately? Yes, I was referring to these first 3 action steps.
Fortunately, I have a sister who is a medical professional and she would not take NO or maybe, or maybe later, as an answer.
She nagged me until I did go to both a physical and mental health care professional. They checked me out, assured me that what I was thinking and feeling were part of the process and gave me sound advice that I still follow today.
Next time I post, we will start talking about 1st level self care tips!.

After surviving the loss of my son and then my husband, I realized that there were some very specific things I did notdo that I wished I had. And then, there were some things that I did just because they felt good, and those worked, so I kept them.
As I planned my signature program Rebuild Your Life After Loss, I decided to formalize these things. And these are what I recommend as possible Immediate Survival Tactics for you. They will include:
• A quick physical and mental healthcheck, recommending specific actions
• Immediate ways to help yourself with 1stLevel Self Care Tips
• Two free guided meditations. One will help you turn down the noise of grief in your head, the other will help youground, center and stabilize.
• Finally, I will show you how I separated “real life” demands with the sacred need to grieve for my loved ones. You canuse this as a model to create your own way, or I can show you how to do it in an interactive 5 week course.
• No matter what you decide to do, please return often for other tips. And remember the most important survival tactic of all is to trust your guts.
I will add a new post to this playlist every month.
