  • Perspective From Ultimate In Self Care After Loss

Four years ago, as I was learning how to cope with the loss of my husband and son, I made a series of videos about my time walking on a local trail. I was over come by the beauty of autumn and wanted to share this with others.

When you watch this, it may not be autumn, but I hope you enjoy the next few videos anyway.

Towards the end of my walk yesterday, I marveled at a little sapling, sheltered by the bigger trees. Singular leaf in transition, the tip of a bigger branch in full change, forming perfect symmetry for the little tree it is attached to.

Focus expands outward to the whole stand of trees, sheltering and protecting the little tree. Eye follows an upper canopy branc pointin tot eh waining moon that is starting to descend into the horizon.Bringing my focus back down, I realized it's all about perspective. Sometimes, it is really important to see that big picture and our place within it. Other times, it is more important to be the fragile leaf going through transition.Today is the first day of the rest of your life, make it be a great one.

  • Ultimate Self Care After Loss Is Synching Up To Nature

Linda M Hughes Psychic Medium and Grief Coach here.

We have had high winds every time I try to get outside to do a recording. So today, I am sharing a picture/voice over withyou. In particular this tribute to nature highlights the continuous cycles of the natural world.

Hopefully this will give you inspiration and peace as you realize that you are also a part of that same natural world. Ialso hope that this video will tide you over in those times when the weather takes control over our ability to get out into nature physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

As you all know, we are experiencing extreme weather across the world. I am located for now in an area that is heading into drought conditions. Last year I lived in an area that is nowreceiving record breaking snowstorms. From north to south, east to west, it’s a lot for all of us to take in.

Whether reading this on my Blog, viewing it on YouTube or listening in on Spotify, allow me now to weave you into arelaxing, calming tribute to Nature, play this whenever the weather won’t allow you to join in.

Our walk starts this blustery late winter day alongside the river, as it sluggishly moves down the ever shrinkingcenterline. Standing testament to historic snowmelts, carved out riverbanks wait in anticipation for the snows in the high mountains to fall. Storm after storm, layer after layer these snows will fill valleys and cover meadowlands.

Until one day in the late spring the sun will rise, move through the day, melting through layers of snow like a hot knife blade melts through a bowl of ice cream. Snow melt will trickle intomountain fissures, snake into rivulets, rush through waiting gullies, flowing into dried up pathways to explode into the creek. Filled to overflowing, it will rush downstream in a jubilant spray of joyous life.

This joyous life and the increasing length and heat of the day will awaken the many creatures from their hibernation. Sunand wind will caress the bare branches of trees, bushes and the dried stalks of wild grasses, reminding them to end their dormancy and rejoin the songs of Nature.

And several months from now, we humans walking this trail will be greeted by the amazing, ecstatic, overflowing, wildenergy, beauty, and fragrances of a new summer season.

This will be followed by the artistry of Nature as it bursts into the yellows, oranges and reds at all of that exuberant life begins to withdraw, release and fade again into another winter of rest and recovery.

Stay in when you must, get out when you can and enjoy the natural world surrounding you. I am sending you all love andpeace this day!

  • Intro To Ultimate Self Care After Loss

Linda M Hughes Psychic Medium and Grief Coach here. This podcast showcase what I consider to be the best way to honor yourself after losing a loved one. This is no more and no less than spending time in nature.  For those of you whoinsist on a more scientific slant to this conversation, I will be researching to post what I can find. But, if you will just take my word for it today, please, venture outside and give it a try.

This can be as simple and easy as taking a quick daily walk around your neighborhood, or better yet, by putting your peton a leash so it can join you. You could put your earpods in, favorite music keyed up and head out for a few laps around the local park.

Or, you could give yourself some bigger goals to stay motivated. Like, running a 5k, or hiking a beautiful mountaintrail by a certain date. You could decide to walk in a local open space with camera in hand to document the lovely scenery throughout the year. You could walk, run, bike or roller blade down a favorite path. Or find a local swimming hole during the summer, to splash away the heat of the day.

You could grab a cooler of beer, a buddy and go fishing beside a local creek at the end of a busy work day. You couldalso just grab a blanket or a yoga mat, throw it on the ground, lay down face up and watch the clouds float by. Or if you are a little braver or have someone to keep an eye out for your safety, you could lay down face up and watch the stars and/or moon sparkle in the night sky.

Your imagination and creativity are your only limitations. And if you get a hankering to immerse yourself in the greatoutdoors but its too cold, blowy, rainy or snowy, you could make the best investment in your life by buying a few house plants. Taking care of these plants will lift your spirits and allow you to sink into the healing mysteries of nature.

Whatever you decide to do, please look at this as the supreme in self care. And let us know how you are doing it byleaving a comment down below. We would love to celebrate this with you. As always, add other comments, like, share and subscribe. This allows me to share with others who are also winding their way through the loss of a loved one. Mythanks in advance.
